About Committee Membership
Size of Committee
There shall be 7 Committee Members (not including the Chair).
If a Committee Member steps down or is otherwise unable to continue in their duties prior to the end of their term, the rest of the Committee may appoint a new Member to serve out the remainder of the term.
Terms shall be 2 years. Committee Members may elect to renew their membership for one additional term at the conclusion of the first term.
Committee Members shall not serve more than two consecutive terms.
Members may step down by giving notice in writing.
Committee Member Expectations:
- Committee Members are expected to devote 4-5 hours a month to work on behalf of the DISC Committee. Generally this work takes the form of one meeting plus research work, reading, sub-committee tasks, etc. There is always opportunity to do more if you have the time and inclination.
- We expect each member to serve on at least one sub-committee. Members should be willing to serve as chair of a sub-committee if needed. Sub-committees are established on an as-needed, ad-hoc basis, according to the current priorities of the committee.
Nominations for new Committee Members shall be solicited from the community.
Nominees will be invited to submit a short application for review by the current Committee.
New members will be selected by simple majority vote of the current Committee.
